Graduation Proceduresfor International Students:

International students should leave the campus within 2 weeks after graduation. They shall not be allowed for the extension of staying on campus or a visa extension with the reason of waiting for graduation certificateand degree certificate to be obtained.

I. Undergraduate Students

1. By March 31 every year, graduating international students may check their academic records. If you cannot graduate on time, you may apply for postponement of graduation at your college.

2. Follow the WeChat Official Account of the International Student Office and college notices to confirm your personal graduation information. By May 30 every year, log in to http://study-info.tongji.edu.cn, select Graduation Application, and fill in the required information.

3. Log in to https://bye.tongji.edu.cn/ to apply for check-out procedures.

4. Graduation certificates will be distributed to colleges once ready. Please follow your college’s notice for collection.

II. Master/PhD Students

1. Before your defense, log in to http://study-info.tongji.edu.cn, select “Graduation Application,” and fill in the required information.

Please log in to https://study-info.tongji.edu.cn/ and http://1.tongji.edu.cn to check your information, especially your name. Please make sure that your name is accurate, that the order of your name is correct, and that the name information on both websites is completely consistent.

Once the graduation certificate has been printed, it cannot be changed. Therefore, be sure to carefully verify all information.

2. After completing your thesis defense, log in to http://study-info.tongji.edu.cn, select “Leaving Procedure,” fill in the required information, and download the system-generated “Check-out Clearance Form” (PDF). Take it to the international student dormitory for stamp confirmation (students who do not live in the international student dormitory must also obtain the stamp). Then, submit the document to your college.

3. Graduation certificates will be available for collection at your college. Please follow the specific instructions provided by your college.

4. The graduation certificate will typically be ready 1 to 2 months after the thesis defense.
