A delegation led by Prof. Yu-ichi Komizo, Director of the East Asian Center for Academic Initiatives at Osaka University, visited Tongji University on the morning of July 21, 2023. The delegation held discussions with CHEN Yili, Director of Tongji University's International Students Office.
CHEN Yili extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Then, he elaborated on the characteristics of Tongji University's international education and the specifics of its collaboration and exchanges with Japan. Moreover, he expressed his aspiration for a stronger partnership between Tongji University and Osaka University in diverse areas such as faculty and student exchanges, curriculum development, and academic forums. Prof. Yu-ichi Komizo spoke highly of the fruitful results of the collaboration between the two universities in recent years. He emphasized the post-pandemic imperative for both universities to leverage their specific academic strengths and intensify their joint efforts in building international platforms. These joint endeavors are key to nurturing a greater number of well-rounded, globally-oriented top talents for China and Japan.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the Gallery of Tongji University History. Then, they visited the Bridge Hall and laboratories accompanied by Vice Dean LIU Fang and Assistant Dean ZHOU Mingliang from the College of Civil Engineering. The delegation highly appreciated Tongji University’s achievements in civil engineering.
